Brother Leveto inducted to Greek Honor Society!
Congratulations to our current Eminent Commander and brother Andrew Leveto(DA1280) who was inducted last night as a member of the Order of Omega. This is Case Western's Greek Honor Society that recognizes those who excel; not only in academics and leadership within the chapter, but throughout campus and the community. It recognizes the elite of Greeks on the Case Western campus, those who strive to live their values beyond their chapter. Brother Leveto has now joined Brother Via(DA1276) who was inducted in Fall 2009.
HOOP DREAMS!
The Delta Alpha Chapter of Sigma Nu placed 1st in the non-competitive bracket of the Phi Mu Hoopalooza Basketball Tournament this weekend. Brothers Moeller, Lee and Linden competed in the 3v3 tournament for charity and came out the victors. "Despite our battle scars we were still able to put the team on our back as we toiled through all seven games," spoke Brother Moeller. Though a non-competitive bracket, the mood was tense as the brothers rallied on for a triumphant win.
Frisbee and Flapjacks for Hunger a Success
On September 30th, the Delta Alpha chapter of Sigma Nu hosted the first annual Frisbee and Flapjacks for Hunger, an ultimate frisbee tournament benefitting the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbank’s Nothing Campaign and the Cleveland Foodbank.
Despite cold and rainy weather, twenty teams came out to enjoy the competition and food. Over six hundred dollars was raised for the Cleveland Foodbank at the event.
We would like to thank all of the participating teams for their support for our first philanthropy event in many years. Congratulations to Beta Theta Pi, Guilty Pleasures, and the Monstars for their first, second, and third place finishes. We hope to see you all again next year.

104th Annual White Rose Formal
Sigma Nu celebrated its 104th annual White Rose Formal this past Saturday, Feb 19. All in all, a total of 90 brothers and their dates attended for an epic night of good food, fun, and dancing.
This year formal was held at the gorgeous Josaphats Arts Hall, a quaint old church reconfigured to be an art gallery on E. 33rd in Cleveland. Photos of the venue can be seen here.
Following dinner, DJ and alumnus Paul Anderko (ΔA1255) started playing his famous dance compilations, and kept the party going on for over two and a half hours of dancing. Brothers and their dates alike enjoyed busting a move or two on the dance floor as the night progressed.
The night concluded with one last slow song as brothers and their dates danced to Seal's "Kiss from a Rose". Fun times were certainly had by all.
Happy birthday Delta Alpha Chapter
That's right. Today, our beloved chapter is 104 years old, and it's looking pretty darn good all things considered. When Clark W. Francy, Harold H. Woods, and our five other chapter founders met at the Hollenden Hotel on February 22, 1907, they most likely had no idea that one day the chapter they founded would have initiated over 1300 knights dedicated to the ideals of Love, Truth, and Honor. But here we are, and to celebrate, here is what has happened in history on the day of our founding.
In 1732, George Washington was born.
In 1819, Spain ceded the territory of Florida to the United States.
In 1857, Robert Baden-Powell was born.
In 1860, the first organized baseball game in history was played.
In 1879, the first Woolworth's opened in Utica, NY.
In 1889, the Washington Monument was dedicated in Washington, DC.
In 1932, future senator Ted Kennedy was born.
And in 1997, on our 90th birthday, Ian Wilmut introduced Dolly the sheep to the world.
February 22 has been a good day for history to be made, and let's hope that for the years to come we will continue to see prosperity for our beloved chapter.
Sigma Nu wins Beta Theta Pi's Tub-Off!
During halftime of this year's Super Bowl, brothers Andy Leveto (DA 1280), Peter Schillo (DA 1288), Eric Purdy (DA 1289) and James Lee (DA 1297) were victorious in Beta Theta Pi's annual Tub-Off event. The event involves a team of 4 racing other teams to eat 3 half-gallons of ice cream. This is the first year that a team other than Beta has won the Tub-Off.
Congratulations, brothers!
