On April 4th, Nick Sachanda was elected President of Case Undergraduate Mock Trial for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Congratulations to Chuck Becker and John Hill on their acceptance into Order of Omega. Chuck and John are two of the four newest members of Order of Omega along with Jen Rischar (Sigma Psi) and Kenneth Hect (Alpha Epsilon Pi) for the Spring 2007 semester. Chuck and John join Matt Hurley, Jake Crandall, and Evan Heiser as brothers who are currently in the Order of Omega.
Congratulations to Adam Rupe (President), Ali Hasanali (Chief Judicial Officer), Matt Gardner (Weatherhead Rep), and Dan Baeder (Arts and Science Rep) for their wins on Saturday, March 31, 2007 in the USG General Elections.
Adam Rupe and Andy Boron were selected for the Orientation Executive Board. Adam and Andy were selected as part of a 100% Greek Executive Board, and are the fourth and fifth executive board members from Sigma Nu in the past 4 years. Priya Sonty (Sigma Psi) and Bill Rallya (Sigma Phi Epsilon) were also selected.
Nick Sachanda won a "Best Witness" award at the first annual Polar Bears Mock Trial Invitational at Ohio Northern University, held Jan. 13 and 14. Case Undergraduate Mock Trial will be competing at the Ohio Valley Regional competition on Feb. 2, 3 and 4, at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
On November 17th, Dustin Fisher and Zach Fredin participated in Sigma Psi's annual Mr. CWRU competition, to benefit the East Cleveland Neighborhood Center. Dustin was sponsored by USG, while Zach was sponsored by Delta Gamma. Both contestants made it to the final five out of 14, and Zach took 1st Runner Up and Mr. Congeniality.
Brothers Boron, Cochrane, Smith, and Blasko participated in the 18th annual production of Case Music Department's production of Windi & Jazzi. Over the course of two nights around 500 people witnessed this event and helped to support the ensembles. Thanks to all who attended!
Nick Sachanda won an "Outstanding Attorney" award at the 1st annual Midwest Challenge Mock Trial Invitational at the University of St. Francis, on December 2nd. He was the only attorney in the competition to earn a perfect 10 ranking. The Case Western team placed 2nd, out of 8 teams participating, losing a tiebreaker. The team will be competing next Jan. 13-14 at Ohio Northern University.
Alex Hamberger recently sang in the Case In Point Concert held on November 30, 2006 in Amasa Stone Chapel. The concert was a huge success. Andy Boron, as part of Speakeasy, opened for Case In Point. Andy will be singing at the Speakeasy Winter Concert Friday, December 8, 2006 at 8:30 to 10:00 in Thwing Ballroom, and coincedentally Case In Point will be opening for Speakeasy at that concert.
This Friday and Saturday evenings Brothers Boron, Cochrane, Smith, and Blasko will be performing in what can only be defined as a musical extravaganza. Windi & Jazzi XVIII will be featuring Case Jazz Ensembles I & II as well as the Case Symphonic Winds. Stop by Thwing Ballroom at 7:30 Friday and Saturday to hear some of your brothers perform!
