Fall 2006 Welcome to the Delta Alpha Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, a social fraternity with beginnings dating back to 1869 at the Virginia Military Institute. Today the fraternity has grown to nearly 250 chapters internationally, initiating almost 200,000 members since its inception.

At Case Western Reserve University, the fraternity has grown to over 50 active members and strives to excel in academics, philanthropy and leadership.

Sigma Nu is located at the "Bottom of the Hill" of Case's south campus. Sigma Nu is the only Fraternity founded on the Honor Principle. Sigma Nu also remains the only Fraternity founded in opposition to the unlawful practice of hazing.

IM Floor Hockey Playoffs

On Tuesday (03-25) our floor hockey team lost in the quarterfinals of the playoffs to FIJI 3-1. This ended the floor hockey season leavings us at 4-1.

Ritual Review and Discussion Sessions a Staple @ Delta Alpha!

Chaplain Jeff Greenstein facilitated the second in an ongoing series of Ritual Discussion and Review Sessions tonight. Brothers in attendance included Ben Phillips, Dan Baeder, and Paul Anderko.

The discussion lasted for about an hour and covered a variety of facets of ritual and what it really means to be a Sigma Nu.

IM Floor Hockey

We won tonight against FIJI by a score of 3-1. This put our season record at 4-0 and ended the regular season. Playoff seeding is this Friday.

IM Floor Hockey

Our IM Floor Hockey team played Delta Kappa Epsilon on Monday 3-17. We won 8-0, putting our record at 3-0 for the regular season. We play again on March 19 at 8:30 against FIJI.

Leap Year Olympics

This Leap Year Day (February 29th) we held our first Leap Year Olympics. The sisters of Delta Gamma were invited over for a fun and competitive mixer. Teams of Sigma Nu's and Delta Gamma's got together to compete in olympic themed events such as Limbo, Chair Relay-Races, and an Obstacle Course. Medals were awarded to the winning teams for their hard work. Leap Year Olympics were a success!

White Rose Formal - Spring 2008

Sigma Nu's 101st White Rose Formal was held on February 23rd. Approximately 40 brothers and their dates hopped on buses and headed out to Sammy's in the Flats. Everyone had a great time eating and socializing. Around nine o' clock the real party started when dancing began. Everyone got to show off their moves on the dance floor for a few hours before heading back to campus. Look forward to pictures in the Photo Gallery.

IM Floor Hockey

Our IM Floor Hockey Team won again tonight, beating Sigma Phi Epsilon by a score of 3-1. This puts our record at 2-0. Our next game is Monday, March 17 at 7:30.

Brothering - Spring 2008

Over the weekend of March 1-2, the chapter enjoyed another very successful brothering retreat to Beaumont scout reservation. Despite below-freezing temperatures and 8 inches of fresh snow, the chapter headed out and holed up in Lodge 1. 11 Candidates were brothered - Gabe Geschke, Solomon Alkhasov, Eben Via, Max Weber, Neil O'Brian, Brad DuBose, Aaron Shanker, Curtis Holmes, Nader Fotouhi, Steve Cummins, and David Schindler. Following the ceremony, chapter meeting, and LTH, everyone headed out to the Flying J for the traditional 2 AM breakfast buffet.

First Small Group Ritual Review and Discussion a success!

Delta Alpha Chapter held its first in a series of small group discussions about our Ritual on Monday. Led by The Chaplain, Brother Jeff Greenstein, Brothers Matt Seemiller, John Horton, William Boyer, and Josh Lostroh delved into a variety of interesting topics regarding Ritual.

The discussion lasted for about an hour, and was deemed a great success by all in attendance. Everyone learned quite a bit during the hour, and looks forward to the next Ritual Discussion session, which will now become a regular program for The Chapter.

IM Floor Hockey

On Sunday (2-24-08), Sigma Nu beat Phi Delta Theta 3-0 in IM Floor Hockey. It was the first game of the season and puts Sigma Nu with a 1-0 record. Our next game is Wednesday March 5 at 9:30 in the Veale center, all are welcome to come watch.
